Using the Presentation Builder:
Run the NRP DVD-ROM software as you normally would, and select "Media Browser" from the Contents screen. Then click the "Open Presentation Builder" button at the bottom right.
Once in the Presentation Builder, use the tabs in the upper left to select media elements by topic or lesson, or use the "Search Media Captions" function to search for any word. Click an item in the resulting list (bottom left, "Select Media Item"); it will appear in the box at the top right. If you want to add that item to your presentation, click the "Add Item" button. You can add the same item more than once if desired (for example, if you want to show a video, then show some other figures, then show the same video again without having to go backward in your presenation). Click "Add All" to take all items from the list on the left and add them to your presentation. You can add any items from either tab ("Lessons" or "Topics") to the same presentation; similarly, items from different lessons can be added to the same presentation.
To re-order your presentation, click an item in the Presentation Builder list (bottom right) and then use the "Move Up" and "Move Down" buttons to put the item where you want it. To remove an item, click it in the Presentation Builder list, then click the "Remove" button. Use "Remove All" to clear the current presentation. To create a new presentation, save the current one, or open a saved presentation, use the corresponding buttons at the bottom underneath the presentation list. These function much like new/save/open in any other program, such as Microsoft Word.
When you are ready to view your presentation, click "Play." This opens a new window much like the Media window. Move through the presentation with the right/left arrow buttons or the arrow keys on your keyboard. Enlarge the presentation with the Zoom buttons. Switch between viewing media and viewing the corresponding figure by using the "Swap Media" button. You may wish to close or minimize all other running programs and enlarge the Presentation window to the best size before showing your presentation. It is recommended that you close all unnecessary programs if you will be showing videos.
When you save a presentation, a small file is saved to your hard drive. This file can ONLY be opened from within the Presentation Builder. This file cannot be run in PowerPoint or any other program. If you take the file to another computer, the NRP DVD-ROM software must be installed on that computer and the Presentation Builder must also have been installed.
We hope you enjoy using the Presentation Builder!
