Description
Developed for the American Academy of Pediatrics' Pediatrics Review and Education Program (PREP), PREP Reference on CD-ROM is an annual compilation of five years of PREP Self-Assessment questions and ten years of the monthly journal Pediatrics in Review. PREP Reference allows pediatric health professionals to quickly and easily locate information on any pediatric medical topic. With its simple yet powerful interface, the software offers full-text searching as well as browsing by year, month, or topic. In addition to text, several thousand images and dozens of videos are available for viewing.
One of PREP Reference’s most outstanding features is its system of Modules. A Module is a customized “holder” for any information a user locates within the software: articles, images, tables, videos, self-assessment questions. Users can create as many custom Modules as they like, fill them with their own selections, and print or review the contents.
PREP Reference is fully compatible with both Windows and Macintosh, and is networkable for use in institutions with many computers.
Responsibilities
Hypix Media, Inc.'s responsiblities for the CD-ROM included: strategy and planning; prototyping and user testing; user interface graphic design concept and production; programming; custom database engineering; asset integration; and testing. The American Academy of Pediatrics provided all content; Hypix processed and integrated thousands of articles and images into the database used by the software.
