PREP Self-Assessment Exercise on CD-ROM annual editions 1999 through 2010
Description
Developed with OHSU for the American Academy of Pediatrics' Pediatric Review and Education Program (PREP), the PREP Self-Assessment Exercise on CD-ROM (PREP SA) is targeted at pediatric health professionals who are looking for an interesting, interactive way to meet their continuing education requirements. PREP SA's interactive self-assessment exercise includes over 250 questions, detailed discussions on the preferred responses to those questions, and supporting multimedia assets (still images, video, audio). The software also contains enhanced features, such as: an animated tutorial with voiceover narration, the ability to sort the questions (by those answered incorrectly, those with multimedia elements, and other views), searching, the ability to submit scores over the internet, printing, and more.
Responsibilities
Hypix Media, Inc.'s responsiblities for the CD-ROMs included: strategy and planning; prototyping and user testing; user interface graphic design concept and production; programming; asset integration; voice over scripting; incorporation of musical score; animation; and testing. The American Academy of Pediatrics created all the assessment content (questions and discussions) while the Media Lab at Doernbecher Children's Hospital (part of OHSU) provided multimedia elements which support the content (photos, illustrations, tables, video). Dr. Dana Braner and Dr. Laura Ibsen are the primary contributors to the Media Lab at Doernbecher.
